Tips

  1. Always wear your life jacket!
  2. Leave your valuables at home so you don't lose them in the river. (such as rings, wallets, cell phones, necklaces, expensive eyeglasses)
  3. Use a strap to secure eyeglasses or sunglasses.
  4. Wear shoes that can get wet.
  5. Don't tie canoes together or grab other canoes.
  6. Do not throw trash in the river or on the river bank.  Bring a trash bag so you can pack up your trash.
  7. Respect private property

What should I bring?

  1. Water, Gatorade or other beverage to keep you hydrated.
  2. Shoes that can get wet. We recommend tennis shoes or water shoes.  Flip-flops generally do not stay on your feet and end up floating away down the river.
  3. Dry clothes and towel to leave in car for after your trip.
  4. Sunscreen
  5. Bug Spray
  6. Hat and sunglasses
  7. Snack
  8. Trash Bag
  9. Comfortable clothing that can get wet and dry quickly.
